Our new Middleton Wellbeing Centre & Cafe

We’re very excited to share the news with you that we are opening a new Wellbeing Centre & Cafe in Middleton!

We’ve found the perfect building right in the town centre on Wood Street. It may not look much now but this building is going to be transformed.

Many of our Middleton communities will remember our cafe, which was situated near Tescos. Unfortunately, when the pandemic hit, we had to close the cafe and with the restrictions that were in place, it meant it wasn’t possible for us to reopen the doors safely to customers. We made the difficult decision to close our doors completely. We rallied the teams together and with the much-appreciated support from our Middleton café service users and volunteers from Zen it took 3 van loads to get everything out of the old café.

We still wanted to be there for our Middleton communities and have searched and searched for the next perfect location… and then we spotted this…

This old bookies is just what we need! This space is perfect for a cafe and wellbeing centre where we can offer mental health and emotional wellbeing support with space for a kitchen area, large windows for our cafe to sit within and enough area for one to one rooms and a large training and wellbeing room.

We got straight to work and before we knew it the planning permission was granted and the keys were in our hands!

Our building team has worked hard gutting the building – ripping down walls and ceilings to start the exciting renovations!
