We are committed to improving the mental health & emotional wellbeing for individuals from ethnic minority communities.

We provide culturally sensitive services that are better able to meet the needs of diverse local communities in Rochdale. To do this, we are improving access to services for marginalised communities and tackling the stigma, cultural taboos and discrimination that is still associated with mental health.

Our work includes:

  • Wellbeing Support Services
  • Supporting South Asian, Eastern European, African & Caribbean communities, as well as refugees & asylum seekers living in the Borough of Rochdale
  • Outreach sessions in the community
  • Weekly wellbeing support groups
  • One to one intervention

Support on offer is culturally appropriate and, where required, spoken in the community languages. Intervention is face to face and telephone both one to one and in groups with the aim to empower and enhance the ability to live well.

Our staff currently speak the following languages: Urdu. Punjabi, Bangla and Swahili.
