We are committed to improving the mental health & emotional wellbeing for individuals from ethnic minority communities.
We provide culturally sensitive services that are better able to meet the needs of diverse local communities in Rochdale. To do this, we are improving access to services for marginalised communities and tackling the stigma, cultural taboos and discrimination that is still associated with mental health.
Our work includes:
- Wellbeing Support Services
- Supporting South Asian, Eastern European, African & Caribbean communities, as well as refugees & asylum seekers living in the Borough of Rochdale
- Outreach sessions in the community
- Weekly wellbeing support groups
- One to one intervention
Diverse Community Dementia Support
Our Diverse Community Dementia Support group offers mental health and emotional wellbeing to those living with dementia, their carers and their families. Provision of one to one support and in groups in a variety of community languages Urdu, Punjabi, Bangla and Swahili.

Cuppa & Chat
Our Dementia Wellbeing Team offers mental health and emotional wellbeing to those living with dementia, their carers and their families. Provision of home visits, one to one support and groups activities is available and delivered in a variety of community languages Urdu, Punjabi, Bangla and Swahili.

Diverse Women's Social Café
- The Diverse Women’s Social Café drop in provides a safe, non judgmental space for those suffering with their mental health and wellbeing to relax, meet likeminded people and talk and learn new things. Delivered in Urdu, Punjabi and Kashmiri languages to meet the needs of the local communities.

Diverse Women's Support Group
Diverse Women’s Support Group encourages women to get together and speak freely about their health and emotional wellbeing in a safe and non-judgmental environment. Participants discuss topics such as menopause, anxiety, depression and loneliness and speak freely about their lives without fear of being judged. Delivered in Urdu, Punjabi and Kashmiri languages to meet the needs of the local communities.

Support on offer is culturally appropriate and, where required, spoken in the community languages. Intervention is face to face and telephone both one to one and in groups with the aim to empower and enhance the ability to live well.
Our staff currently speak the following languages: Urdu. Punjabi, Bangla and Swahili.
